February 24, 2014
Thursday, February 27, 2014 will be a half-day for students so that teachers and parents can meet to discuss the progress of their children. Students will be dismissed at 12 (noon). Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held between 1-3 pm and 5:30-8 pm. In order to get your child’s report card, you must complete the school environment surveys and sign for the report card in Atria before visiting teachers. We expect to see you for these very important meetings. Students who wish to get lunch may do so after dismissal. There will be no Sports and Arts or 21st Century Programs on Thursday.
There is a long stretch of instructional time between today and the first state exam (in ELA) April 1st. It is very important that your child comes to school and completes their homework regularly.
In addition, we will be having a number of parent workshops for you to come to during the month of March. These have been designed to help you get a better understanding of the kind of work your child is being asked to complete. You will have an opportunity to review your child’s work and measure it against the learning progressions that we are using to help measure progress.
